Final Design Brief: Food Truck Concept and Design

Image result for food truck

You are beginning the “Food Truck” project today. This is where you will be informed of the general process of the project. It has a similar format to certain cooking programs such as Chopped or Iron Chef, and incorporates the standard flow of a graphic design presentation.

There will be three segments to the program for each group, leading to a total of three presentation phases.

The first segment is the presentation phase, where the active group will be verbally presenting their food trucks and the idea behind their entire concept. This will be referred to as the presentation aspect of the program. There will be need to be different aspects of the presentation including specific content [i.e. tell us about the type of business this will be (concept of the truck), convenience aspect, show us the designed style of food truck exterior and menu design for the truck, any promo items associated with the truck, uniforms for the truck workers, packaging for walk away items, etc.]
The second phase will be the food service phase. Each member of the group will provide a small sample of a "representative dish" from their truck concept.  As the dishes are placed in front of  the student judges, and as they eat the samples, the presenter will describe their dish and elaborate on it. You will be evaluated on Taste, Presentation/Styling, Creativity/Originality, and the official dish's Description (copywriting) and the verbal delivery effectivenessAfter describing the dish and after the student judges have finished your sample dish, we will move on to the next phase.
The third phase is the conclusion where the active group will wrap up their presentation with any finishing comments. This is the time in the script where the most "wow-tastic" presenter in your team may do WHATEVER they want to sell the truck, food, concept and idea. It is likely the most important part of the presentation of the project because it is what will stick in the minds of the students who will then vote in the conference room for whatever truck they most believe in.
